The Woodard Corporation is delighted to announce the appointment of the Revd Justin White as Senior Provost.
Justin is currently Senior Chaplain and Dean of Chapel, Head of Theology and Philosophy at Winchester College. In the past he has been Chaplain of Dulwich College and of St Helen and St Katharine’s School, Abingdon, as well as doing a brief spell as Precentor of Grace Cathedral, San Francisco. He is an experienced and very highly regarded school chaplain and priest.
The appointment was made following a search and a rigorous selection process in which we were assisted by RSAcademics. The interviewing panel comprised the President, the Very Revd John Hall (member of the Board), Tricia Pritchard (Chair of the Woodard Academies Trust and member of the Board), Clare Sherwood (Head of Llandaff School and Co-Chair of the Woodard Heads Association) and Nigel Genders (Chief Education Officer of the Church of England). The Board accepted the panel’s unanimous recommendation that Fr Justin should be appointed.
The President said:” I am delighted about Fr Justin’s appointment. He is a man of considerable intellect who is both energetic and practical; he has integrity and great personal presence. His varied background is an added bonus: scientist, management consultant, rural priest and chaplain. I look forward very much to working with him.”
Fr Justin said “It is an honour and a privilege to accept the Board’s invitation to be the next Senior Provost. Thank you to the selection panel for the confidence they have placed in me. Wanting to get on and do my bit to realise Woodard’s great vision for our schools, and this generation of their pupils, means I can hardly wait to get started! I much look forward to meeting many of you in due course. Meanwhile, the Senior Provost designate will be praying for all of the work of the Corporation and the Trust.”
