We are looking for a CCAB qualified accountant to undertake a Head Office role overseeing financial reporting to the Group Board of a company and charity operating sixteen independent schools. Each school has its own accounting staff and accounts are produced termly on a consistent basis. Tasks will include production of annual consolidated financial statements, termly group financial information, production and management of budgets for the Head Office function and compiling statutory accounts for inactive companies in the group. Other tasks will include treasury management, accounting for charitable funds and general co-ordination of group activity including insurance, banking, audit and group reporting of carbon usage, and involvement in projects to improve systems across the group.
The ideal candidate will be able to communicate confidently with bursars and finance staff at schools and negotiate and influence where appropriate. Ability to work to produce timely reports and analysis is essential. The post holder will report to the Director of Finance.
The salary is £40,000 to £45,000 plus benefits per annum, dependent on experience, plus 8% pension contribution. The post holder will be based at the Head Office in Abbots Bromley.
