Following on from last week’s excellent A Level results, pupils at Alderley Edge School for Girls are yet again celebrating, having achieved impressive grades across a whole range of subjects. They were justifiably proud, as these results prove their commitment to their studies and determination to succeed. They were also quick to thank their teachers who had supported them throughout the two year courses, giving of their time and expertise willingly to help them secure the best grades possible.

Particular congratulations go to Sophie Christie with 7A* and 3A grades; Helena Lewis with 6A* and 5A grades; Zoe Aldridge with 6A* and 3A grades; Holly Bennett – 5A* and 4A grades; Emily Moylan with 5A* and 2A grades and Becky Moore with 4A* and 5A grades.

Across all the subjects, nearly 40% of all grades were at A* – A and 70% at A* – B grades. The girls achieved particularly strong results in Triple Science GCSE with 69% A* – A grades in all three sciences. Other subjects in which they achieved highly include ICT: 60% A* – A and Religion and Philosophy: 68% A* – A. The first cohort of girls to take Computing as a GCSE subject achieved a 100% pass rate.

Mrs Susan Goff, Headmistress, commented: “Yet again the girls have shown that determination, hard work and commitment pay off and they are to be warmly congratulated on their excellent results which are richly deserved. We look forward to welcoming them into the Sixth Form in a week’s time. I have every confidence in their ability to work hard and succeed as they embark on the next exciting stage of their academic journey.”
