Three students at King’s College, Taunton are celebrating this week after receiving offers to study at Oxford and Cambridge Universities.

School captain, Harry Cooper-Simpson, has been awarded a place to read materials science at Queen’s College, Oxford, while Lorcan Cudlip-Cook has been offered a place to read English at Pembroke College, Cambridge.

Former school captain, Charles Collins, who left King’s College last summer, has been offered a place to read philosophy and theology at Pembroke College, Oxford.

Headmaster, Richard Biggs, said: “Charles, Lorcan and Harry have been inspired and supported by the school and their teachers. They have worked hard at their applications, reading widely to ensure sure they were interesting and attractive candidates; I congratulate them very warmly”.

He added: “King’s College’s proud track record of Oxbridge success underlines our academic credentials. Through inspirational teaching and an enriching curriculum, we ensure our students’ studies go well beyond the confines of the syllabus and help them to develop a genuine, life-long passion for learning”.
