A team of Fourth Form geographers from King’s College, Taunton won the annual Geographical Association Worldwise Quiz. The quiz comprised several rounds of geographical questions, such as country and capitals, case studies, Google earth image identification and landmarks of the UK.
The team consisted of Eliza Chapple, Hugh Ogle, Tom Clarke and Edward Hunt. Other schools taking part included the hosts, and last year’s winners, Queen’s College, Taunton School, Exeter School, and Huish Episcopi.
After the first few rounds King’s was in joint lead with Exeter Cathedral. Going into the final ‘gamble’ round King’s was ahead by four points, so in a nail-biting final run of questions, the competition went right to the wire, with King’s securing the win.
The final scores were:
Huish Episcopi 67
The evening was wrapped up with a fabulous celebratory meal.
King’s College is now looking forward to hosting the event next year when the current Third Form pupils will have the opportunity to represent King’s.
