Pupils from King’s Hall School received a special Welsh-themed treat last week as part of their St David’s Day celebrations. Houseparents from King’s College, Lisa Cashmore, Emma Edwards, and Laura Jones, all of whom were born and raised in Wales, visited the school to lead an assembly on the country’s culture and heritage. The trio covered topics including language, clothing, music, and sport.

As part of the celebrations, the pupils were able to learn popular phrases, dress up in traditional Welsh costume, and try their hand at the national anthem. There was even an opportunity to taste some freshly baked Welsh cakes, which naturally went down a treat!

It was also a great opportunity for the younger pupils at King’s Hall to meet the three housemistresses at King’s College. Commenting, Emma Edwards, house mistress of Taylor House, said: “We all had a fabulous time celebrating St David’s Day. We were so impressed with the pupils’ enthusiasm and interaction, and we are looking forward to visiting them again soon.”
