Kings College booked their place in the second round of the ISFA U18 Girls 11-a-side Cup when they comfortably beat their Bradfield College counterparts earlier this week.
Fielding a young team, the Berkshire school team were no match for their more experienced visitors. Grace Perkins opened the scoring before Elena Sistermann scored four, with Imogen Keeling scoring her first ever goal for the side. Lucie Waddon went on to extend the lead to 7-0 by half time. The King’s captain Beth Beale scored one more after the break to see her side run out as the 8-0 victors. The team will now entertain Malvern College, who will provide them with a much sterner test early in the New Year.
Head of Football Chris Heayns said: “The King’s team gave a very good account of themselves and were the deserving winners in this contest against a young, but very enthusiastic side who never gave up trying. In the next round King’s will have to be on top form to beat Malvern College, who also have a strong reputation for girls’ football.”
