The King’s College Chamber Choir and Brass Group visited a meeting at Taunton Racecourse and brought festive flavour to the occasion. Pupils entertained race-goers with traditional carols, and in their down-time, enjoyed the atmosphere that is unique to racing.

In attendance were Director of Music Colin Albery and Music Teacher Karen Paul. After watching the thrilling first race, the King’s College Taunton Handicap Hurdle, they were joined by Director of Development Leisa Lavender to present the prize to the winning owner of Dropzone.

Afterwards Mr Albery said “It is always a pleasure to bring our pupils to the racecourse to add to the festive atmosphere with carols from our chamber choir and brass group. We are always warmly appreciated and it was great to get involved first hand with the racing by presenting the owners of the first race with their trophy. Doubly pleasing as it was their first win!”

The King’s choir were caught on camera by Sky Sports, much to the delight of the pupils and staff.
