Students from Denstone College in Staffordshire have done exceptionally well gaining the best top grade results of the last five years, with 43% achieving  A* or A grades. There was success across the board in both traditional and vocational subjects with 100% A* and A grades in Further Mathematics, Theatre Studies, Music and Sport. 93% of English Literature scores were at A*, A or B. 20 out of 25 Maths candidates attained a B or above. Eleven subjects came out with 100% success rate at A*-C including History, Geography, Economics, French, Spanish, ICT and Art.

Headmaster David Derbyshire said “These fantastic results mean the Denstone College Students can move confidently on to the next stage of their careers. Hard work from staff and pupils has paid off. But, we’ve seen these impressive young people having fun and shining in different ways.  I know they’re ready to go out and make an impact on the world’’

Amongst those celebrating their examination results at Denstone are Emily Bailey (A*,A*,A,A)  who will be studying Law at Sidney Sussex, Cambridge, Olivia Greatbatch (A*,A*,A,A) who is going to do Medicine at University College London, while Arthur Joustra starts Medicine at Nottingham.

Georgia Brough (A*,A*A) is embarking on an Aeronautical Engineering course at Leeds whereas Harry Dunning Fernyhough, Sam Brossler and Isabelle Hosein all clocked up two A* and an A and are going to study Mathematics at Bath, Edinburgh and Durham Universities respectively.
