For January or April 2016

The Headmaster designate and the Governors wish to appoint an outstanding individual as their Director of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning.

This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative and dynamic individual to join the Senior Leadership Team of this thriving co-educational day and boarding school. ECS educates children between the ages of rising 3 and 13, including the Choristers of Exeter Cathedral. The Director of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning will have significant management responsibilities and will play a key role in the continuing success and strategic planning of the school.

The successful candidate is likely to be an outstanding teacher with experience of Middle/Senior Leadership, with the energy and vision to be a role model for pupils and staff whilst managing the academic side of life at this busy and happy school. It is expected that the post-holder will teach a reduced timetable (all subjects will be considered, although English as a main subject may be an advantage) and that s/he will be willing to contribute enthusiastically to other areas of school life.

A competitive salary commensurate with the candidate’s experience will be paid.

Closing date for applications: Wednesday, 7th October 2015

Interviews will be held on: Thursday, 15th October 2015

Full details can be obtained directly from the School website: www.exetercs.org or from Rosie Hankin, Bursar’s Assistant, at r.hankin@exetercs.org

Exeter Cathedral School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all employees to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
