Katherine Rundell, author of well-known children’s novels Rooftoppers and The Wolf Wilder, visited King’s Hall School in Taunton last week.

Katherine joined pupils over Skype for an interactive Q&A session as part of the school’s rescheduled World Book Day celebrations. The acclaimed author was due to visit in person earlier this month, but due to recent weather conditions, had to postpone. The children were especially pleased to hear about Katherine’s trip to the Amazon rainforest, which formed the inspiration behind her Costa award-winning novel, The Explorer.

Year 6 pupil, Maya said: “It was an inspirational visit and I got some great tips on how to write stories!” King’s Hall look forward to more World Book Day events next week and hope to welcome Katherine back again in the near future.
