A Woodard Education
We aim to bring out the very best in everyone. A Woodard education champions the cause of child-centred holistic learning, paying particular attention to the development of the whole person: spiritually, morally, culturally, academically, aesthetically and physically. This means that education begins at the point of the child’s needs and places a high value on developing self-respect and self-esteem. Every child is valued for who they are and encouraged to give their very best. We believe that every young person has the right to develop their full potential. Many of our young people successfully compete on the national stage in the field of academia, sports, the arts and culture.
Our family contains some of the highest achieving schools in both the public and private sectors, including a number of national Teaching Schools. We make it a priority to give a high level of professional support and development for our teachers, so that every young person receives an excellent education. Our school leaders contain a number of National Leaders of Education and national subject specialists. Through being a group we can offer more to both young people and staff than a single school could offer alone.
You can learn more about the Woodard ethos by reading our Educational Statement and our document discussing Hallmarks of a Woodard School, both of which can be downloaded here.
Today, Woodard schools have a sense of ‘faith, unity and vision’ that has never been stronger.
Faith
A Woodard education values both the spiritual and moral development of each person giving strength, confidence and respect for others.
Young people from all faiths and traditions, or none at all, flourish in the rich, diverse culture of our schools enabling them to lead full and creative adult lives.
Unity
The Woodard family of schools provides many inter-school opportunities, the sharing of best practice and a strength and expertise within education.
Our pioneering heritage places much emphasis on leadership and management. From attractive, welcoming environments to modern facilities, Woodard schools offer a rich variety of extracurricular activities, professional teaching and effective pastoral care.
Our Vision
Woodard schools offer a twenty-first century education rooted in the vision of the founder. A vision which challenges those that believe education is simply a matter of teaching and learning certain facts.
The education of the whole person, to foster the unique potential of each individual, is the Woodard way.
